Investment Planning

When it comes to investing, the only risk that should matter is the risk of not achieving your long-term financial goals. Your investment strategy should be designed to minimize the risk of not achieving your financial goals. The most optimal investment plan for you is, first and foremost, the one you will stick with.

At TCM Wealth Advisors, we offer our clients a dynamic evidence-based investing.pdfapproach to investment management designed to create long-term, sustainable wealth in retirement and beyond. We pursue a disciplined, consistent strategy that involves balancing risk and reward to help maximize investment returns while minimizing downside risks.

On an individual basis, this involves determining your life goals and investment objectives and assessing your appetite for risk through our in-depth investment questionnaire and series of collaborative meetings. We then create a customized investment portfolio for you that we will monitor and adjust over time. Ultimately, our objective is to help you achieve an enjoyable, secure retirement and to realize your legacy goals.

Our process begins with a strategic asset allocation that establishes a long-term investment framework for your portfolio. Asset allocation involves diversifying your investable assets among multiple investment asset classes such as U.S. stocks, international stocks, bonds and alternative investments. We believe that the majority of investment returns are attributable to asset allocation decisions, so we work with you to ensure that your customized asset allocation reflects your investment objectives, risk tolerance, time horizon, financial position, financial information, and liquidity needs.

Once a target asset allocation framework is in place, we will allocate your assets appropriately into a variety of investment vehicles, including but not limited to mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), money market funds, and third-party managers. With an emphasis on lowering investment-related costs, we primarily use exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and institutional, no-load and load-waived mutual funds. Allocations to alternative investments – which may include managed futures, long-short equity funds, natural resources, commodities, precious metals and real estate – are designed to more fully diversify portfolios, help diversify risk and improve returns.

On an ongoing basis, we actively monitor your portfolio, making adjustments as needed. The ups and downs of the global financial markets are unpredictable, so we continually seek to reduce unnecessary risk when and where possible. We use evidence-based.pdf investment strategies to build long-term retirement portfolios for our clients, which may involve dynamically or tactically adjusting portfolio allocations depending on various investment factors like supply and demand or relative strength of various global asset classes and investment sectors.

If your personal situation changes or you encounter a major life transition, we will meet with you to discuss the implications and may need to revisit your investment strategy and adjust your investment mix. We are here to partner with you over your financial lifetime to give you the best possible chance of achieving your investment objectives. As partners in your lifelong financial success, we want to help you get more than a return on your investments; we want to help you get a better return on life.

TCM may qualify you for investment in one or more unaffiliated Third Party Manager Programs. The factors that TCM will consider in recommending a particular Third Party Manager may include, but are not limited to, your stated investment objectives, management style, independence, performance, philosophy, financial strength, continuation of management, client service, reporting, commitment to a particular investment mandate, fees, trading efficiency, and research.
